Scars can occur after skin damage. In principle, after every wound in the skin, a scar is formed. Some are not even visible and others are clearly visible. They can be caused by an operation, an accident, a pregnancy, but also by acne, for example. Why one scar stands out more than the other scar has to do with various factors, such as the depth of the wound, the location, but also how your wound heals, hereditary predisposition and how healthy you are. All these aspects influence how the scar will form. For example, scars can be raised (lying on the skin) or sunken, adhered or they have a different color than the surrounding skin. You can never completely remove scars, but we can help you with our skin therapeutic treatments to make them less visible. Techniques that we use for this are medical microneedling and fractional laser.

Medical microneedling with Dermapen4
Microneedling is a scientifically recognized and safe technique. Superfine needles made of surgical steel make 200 channels per cm2 in the skin without damaging it. This stimulates cell renewal in the deeper skin layers. During the treatment, new collagen (type 3) and elastin fibers are created. This technique fills the scar with new tissue and prevents the formation of new scar tissue. The needles of the Dermapen4 are adjustable and therefore never go deeper than desired. This allows us to properly guarantee the safety of the treatment.

Fractional laser treatment
With the Fractora from Inmode system we can effectively renew the skin in depth. Different layers of the skin can be fractionated with miniscule laser beams, which optimally stimulates the production of collagen and elastin fibers. We can safely replace the damage to the connective tissue. This technique is combined with radio waves and this multiplies its effect.
The Fractora is CE and FDA certified, which guarantees the safety of the equipment and the treatment.
What effect can you expect?
With 3-6 treatments you can achieve an increase of 400 percent more collagen and elastin. In time, the skin structure will improve and the skin will feel tighter and smoother. Due to improved blood flow, pigment will also visibly decrease and scars will improve significantly. For best results, 4-6 treatments are required with an interval of 6 weeks.

Important to know
The recovery time from the treatment depends on the area being treated and the intensity of the treatment. The skin may be slightly red and slightly swollen and feel stinging, but this is temporary. After the treatment it is important to keep the skin dry for the first 24 hours. Some scabs may form. It is important not to scratch. The scabs will fall off on their own after a few days. After the treatment we advise not to use exfoliating products and to protect the skin as much as possible against the sun. If desired, we can advise you on the right post-treatment creams and medical foundation that provide extra comfort and a faster recovery of the skin.
